THE FUTURE
The future of the Yanomami is at risk but organizations have already ratified documents for the Yanomami to be protected. Additionally, an educatuonal project has been set up by a Brazilian NGO. Yanomami teachers are being taught to read, write and also mathematics in their tribes while other Yanomami have been trained as doctors.
Although a Brazilioan NGO has already set up a health care system in the Yanomami society, the outrage of diseases within the Yanomami community is effecting the Yanomami as a whole. With outsiders illegally entering the Yanomami habitat for cattle ranching, logging, gold minning and farming, the Yanomami are dying. Already between 1987 and 1900, 15% of the Yanomami population has died from violence, diseases and environmental destruction. The death of Yanomami are increasing each year and the laws made on no trespassing into Yanomami's territory is not effecting many illegal gold miners. Additionally, melaria is getting out of hand throughout the Yanomami tribes and health reinforcements are racing against time.
The future that the Yanomami bestows is not very pleasent and organisations have already been trying to help. but outsiders need to stop trespassing territory, and with the Yanomami's death rates expanding, the Yanomami will soon cease to exist.
